How do you use Giftwhale?
Getting started with Giftwhale is simple. Follow these easy steps to create your first wish list.
If you are not already a Giftwhale member then create a free account in seconds.
No hidden fees, no credit card required. Simply sign up with your email and you're ready to go!
Whether you are a new or existing user, create a new wish list event.
Giftwhale will guide you through the creation, prompting you for the required information and allowing you to customise the wish list in certain areas if you desire.
You can add any item - from any shop, online or not. An item needs a minimum of a name (e.g. House plant) but you can add much more detail if you want.
Add the price, quantity, image and even a direct link. If you have a link for the item you can use the Fetch function - this uses the link to automatically grab information about the item and populate it for you.
Until your list is shared it is only visible to you. When you are ready to share your list with others you can choose to share it just with your friends on Giftwhale, or make it public to anyone with the link.
Personal lists such as birthdays are more suited to being shared just with family or friends, whilst wish lists for bigger events such as baby showers, weddings or charity events are probably more suited to have a public setting so anyone with the link can view them.
