One of Giftwhale’s most used features is private sharing. Private sharing allows you to only share your wish list with friends and family you’ve added on Giftwhale. This feature ensures the items on your wish list are not discoverable or viewable by the public or anyone you haven’t approved.

A relatively new feature we’ve added is public sharing. Public sharing generates a unique link for you to share with anyone you like. Anyone who visits this link will be able to view the items on your wish list, reserve them, and ultimately purchase them. These links can easily be shared on Facebook or Twitter or via email.

Public Sharing Wish List Controls

To control the method of sharing on your event you can visit the ‘manage event’ tab when logged in and viewing an upcoming event. From here you’ll be able to select between ‘Private’, ‘Friends only’, and ‘Public’.

Once this has been set you can easily see more information or get your special sharing link (if you’ve selected ‘Public’) from the ‘share’ tab.

As always, any questions, please let us know :)

Happy Sharing
