Good to know
- Which AI apps work with Giftwhale?
- Claude (on the web, desktop and mobile), ChatGPT, Claude Code, Gemini CLI, Cursor, VS Code and any other app that supports MCP (Model Context Protocol) connectors. Settings → Connected AI has the exact steps for each.
- What about Gemini?
- Gemini CLI connects with a sign-in like the others. Gemini on the web and on phones only works if your version lets you add a custom MCP connector. If it does, paste the same address.
- Can it look after my children’s lists?
- Yes. If you manage child accounts on Giftwhale, your AI can create lists for them, add things they’d love and keep their sizes up to date.
- Can my AI buy things for me?
- No. It can save items, reserve gifts and mark them as bought, but the shopping is still yours.
- Will my friends know an AI reserved their gift?
- A reservation made by your AI is the same as one you make yourself, with your name shown or hidden just as you choose.
- Does it cost anything?
- No. Connecting an AI is free with your Giftwhale account.
